On September 27, the National Bureau of Statistics released a report on profit data of industrial enterprises above designated size nationwide from January to August 2023. Data show that from January to August, the total profit of industrial enterprises above designated size nationwide was 4,655.82 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 11.7%, and the decline rate was 3.8 percentage points narrower than that from January to July. Among them, from January to August, the operating income of the furniture manufacturing industry was 395.06 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 8.5%; the operating cost was 326.41 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 10.0%; the total profit was 18.54 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 10.2%.
